Since 4th to 10th September, 2015, the International Blind Tennis Association (I.B.T.A.), organism that regulates this sport internationally, has organized the 2nd International Congress of Blind Tennis.
This year was held in the Italian town of Sacile, thanks to the invaluable efforts made by our colleague and friend Eduardo Silva, official representative of the Blind Tennis in Italy.
It has been 6 wonderful days of coexistence, sharing experiences and making decisions about the Blind Tennis internationally, since we have participated 12 countries members of this great family.
In the course of the Congress, the rules of the game has been revised, approved the organizational structure of the Association and has elected to the Executive Committee, which will coordinate and manage the organizational areas necessary for the proper functioning of the IBTA.
This Executive Committee is composed by the following offices:
- President: Eduardo Silva (Italy).
- Vice president: Amanda Green (United Kingdom).
- Secretary: Claudia Sedas (Mexico).
- Head of Finance: Eduardo Raffetto (Argentina).
- Head of Technical Department: Mario Cázares (U.S.A.)
- Head of medical research and development: Gaetan Li (Republic of Mauritius).
- Head of Public Relations: Paco Verdú (Spain).
We are proud to be part of this prestigious Committee and we promise to work very hard for the international expansion of this wonderful sport, and thus fulfill the dream that one day Miyoshi Takei had… Get that it becomes a Paralympic sport.
Congratulations to all countries members of this great family, for the hard work they are doing to bring Blind Tennis to society and our players continue reaching your sporting goals.
We have definitely passed a few unforgettable days, sharing amazing moments with our more than friends, now brothers, of the Blind Tennis around the world.
